The
goal of the Small Animal ICU Shadowing program is to give pre-clinical
students the opportunity to spend time in the small animal hospital and to
obtain experience in small animal emergency and critical care medicine.
Students will be following clinical students through part of their day and
will observe how they handle a case from patient arrival through work
up. The shifts are available Seven Days A Week from 8
to 10 PM . There will be a maximum of 2 students per
shift. Tues/Thurs
lunch time shadowing is also available for those interested in getting more
experience. The sign up sheet for members is on the SVECCS board. Please
dress appropriately to the shift. Jeans and T-shirts are not
acceptable. Please wear white coat and the CVM badge at all times in
the small animal clinic. It might be a good idea to bring a stethoscope
because there may be opportunities to practice auscultation skills on the
patients. Signing
up for ICU Shadowing is a contract to be taken seriously. Students are
expected to be present for all scheduled shadowing periods. A replacement
must be found by any student unable to be present for his or her scheduled
time. Click the link below for more information on finding a replacement. ICU
