| Miss your doggie at home?
Need a furry friend to comfort you after bombing an exam? Well
you've come to the right place. This club allows students and
faculty to walk,
snuggle, care for, and play with MSU CVM's research animals. Not
only providing comfort to you, but enriching the life of a research
animal. This club has a minimal requirement that you spend at least 30mins (per week) with your animal between the hours of 10:30am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday. Due to security access you must be part of the College of Veterinary Medicine either DVM students, Vet Tech students, Graduate students, faculty, or staff within the College of Veterinary Medicine. This unfortunately means that undergraduate students are not allowed to sponsor a dog. HOWEVER!!! Any person can walk a blood donor dog. To walk a blood donor dog go into the small animal clinic and speak with a receptionist. You will need to leave an ID card with them, but they will let you take one of the blood donor dogs for a fun filled walk between the hours of 8am-5pm (M-F). Mission: Making an animal's world a brighter place, one visit at a time! The time you spend with your animal is a wonderful gift, not only for your animal but also for you! One of our main goals is to enrich research animal's lives by socializing them. Interesting Facts about Sponsor-a-Dog Program: The program was founded in 2004 by Amy Schupska. Current President: Rachel Mullins (CVM Class 2011) Past presidents: Laura Miller (CVM Class 2009) Dana Hardy (CVM Class 2008) Amy Schupska There are many different breeds in the program, like beagles, briards, corgi x briards, and many other crosses.
