Membership Benefits

 

 

Student Membership Information:

Ø      AAHA-CAC dues are $10/ school year.

Ø      Or $6/ semester

Ø      Dues include food, meetings and wet lab costs.

 

Membership Applications can be found in the mailbox of Amber Genda-Kolberg (2010) and dues may be placed in the SCAVMA lockbox labeled with your name and “AAHA-CAC Membership Dues.”

 

As an AAHA Student Member you will receive the following membership benefits:

Job/Externships Bank

You can search for EMPLOYMENT and EXTERNSHIPS at AAHA-accredited practices.

Ø      The externship Bank typically has ~200 positions in most of the U.S.

Ø      The Job Bank has ~250 positions in AAHA-accredited hospitals in many specialties and areas of the country.

Ø      Often this job/externship bank is the only place the employer lists the job, hoping for responses from AAHA students.

 

Student Book/Journal Discounts!!!

Ø     Additional 10% discount off the member price listed on the AAHA website

Ø     Discounted subscription rates on Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association (JAAHA), and AAHA's TRENDS magazine

Ø     An annual subscription to AAHA's student newsletter, “Connection”, published electronically 3 times a year

Ø       A group of student members could combine their orders into one order so as to save on individual shipping and handling charges. The group order would have to be placed under one student's name and sent together to one address. You can place book orders at anytime by calling the AAHA Member Service Center at 1-(800)-883-6301 or fax the order to 1-(303)-986-1700. Be sure to mention or write on the order that you are ordering under the student member rate of 10% off the regular member price.

Additional Information

AAHA student chapters are offered at every veterinary school in the US and Canada, as well as at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies, and St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada. Each AAHA student chapter organizes educational and networking events for the benefit of students. Plus, AAHA offers several benefits to help enhance the education of veterinary students.
